The Brumadinho Memorial is a space of remembrance and symbolic reparation, dedicated to the 272 victims of the collapse of the Córrego do Feijão dam in 2019. Set in a rural area, the project combines architecture, landscape design, and light to create an introspective and sensitive experience, where each element integrates symbolism that evokes presence, absence, and memory.

Awarded Winner of the [d]arc awards 2025 | Spaces category, the lighting design developed by Atiaîa Lighting Design plays a fundamental role in shaping the memorial’s narrative. Light guides the path, defines planes and rhythms, and creates an immersive and contemplative atmosphere. All solutions were designed to minimize environmental impact, protecting fauna, flora, and the night sky, using high-efficiency luminaires with precise light control.

To support this sensitive and precise lighting approach, the project integrates several O/M solutions, including Nub, One Plus, Dot, Tubo 70, Tubo Evo, and Limit, enhancing the memorial’s architectural and emotional experience.

The Brumadinho Memorial is a space for contemplation and resistance against forgetting, where light reveals and transforms the visitor's experience.
